Can I e-mail my photograph for a custom order?
We do not accept digital files in e-mail attachments. Please mail your photograph(s) with your completed order form.
Can I send a digital file instead of an actual photo?
Photographic prints are preferred, but we will also accept digital photograph(s) on CD. Please provide 600 dpi ".tif" files about 7MBs in size if you are scanning photos or about 3MB in size if using a digital camera. (Please do not send printed digital camera photos; we prefer to work with the master underlying digital file). Depending on the design you choose (pendant or lamp), we may be able to use smaller files. Please provide the highest resolution you can, we will contact you if we have any concerns or questions.
Does it matter what size photo I send in?
Custom photographs may be any size up to 8" x 10". The photograph is digitally scanned, sized and printed. The original photograph is returned with the custom order and the digital copy is used in the custom order. For Pendants: we generally digitally reduce the size of the photograph to fit the size of the pendant. For Lamps: we generally digitally enlarge the photo to fit the size of the lamp.
Do you crop the photo to fit the piece?
Photograph[s] may be cropped slightly to conform to the shape of pendant or the lamp. For Pendants: we offer small and large pendants to acommodate each photographic format (square, vertical and horizontal). Lamps: Lamps are generally in a square format, slightly longer on the vertical side.
Do you crop the actual photo or the digital copy of it?
We scan your original photograph and digitally size it to fit in the pendant. If we do any negligible cropping, it is to the digital copy; your original photograph is returned to you intact with your custom order.
Will you crop my photograph for me?
If very specific instructions are provided with your order, we will crop the digital file of your photograph for your custom order. If we have any questions, we will e-mail you.
Can I use a color photo?
Yes, we reproduce color as well as black and white photographs for your custom order.
Can I send in a color photo but have it converted to black and white for my custom order?
We can convert color images to black and white, but generally do not recommend doing this, as the image may appear "flat" and may not look like a true black and white photograph.
What is the timeframe for a custom order?
The timeframe for a custom order is generally 4-6 weeks, but please let us know if you need the custom order by a certain date, and we will inform you by e-mail if the order can be filled in time for your needs.
Is the classic pendant shaped more like a vertical rectangle and is the beveled pendant square?
Every custom pendant style is available in all three shapes: square, vertical and horizontal. If you perfer one shape over another, please write a note on your order form and we'll crop your photo to the shape you've requested. Include your e-mail address on your order form so we can e-mail a jpeg of the cropped photo for your approval. Otherwise, the shape of your photo is matched to the corresponding pendant shape (i.e. if you send in a vertical photo, your pendant will be vertical).
